How Long Does Brow Lamination Last?

beautiful lashes after a lash tint at Ivy Reign

It’s safe to say that brow lamination has taken over the game and continues to be one of the biggest brow trends in the world. The thick, fluffy brow look is probably as fat as we’re going to get from the overplucked, sparse eyebrows of the 90’s.

So, how long do laminated eyebrows last? Should you get it done, and what does proper aftercare look like?

Keep scrolling to find out everything you need to know, including our secret brow lamination aftercare tips, how long lamination lasts, and more.

What is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination is a cosmetic treatment designed to shape and set your eyebrows into a more uniform, fuller brow appearance. The process involves applying a special solution to the brows, which helps to set them in place and give them a sleep, polished look; in other words, the treatment is perfect for anyone who wants to achieve a polished appearance with minimal effort.

The brow lamination process itself is relatively quick (at most salons), taking around 45 minutes. However, at Ivy Reign, we take about an hour as we use a lower-impact product that slowly develops to allow better control and consistent, stunning results.

What Does the Brow Lamination Process Involve?

  • Step 1: Our brow experts will discuss your brow and beauty goals and map out your ideal brow shape.
  • Step 2: The brows are cleansed, and a brow fix solution is applied to keep them in an upward position, ensuring the lamination solutions work effectively from root to tip.
  • Step 3: A brow lift solution is applied to break down the bonds in the hair, allowing them to be reshaped. Depending on the hair’s condition, this solution is left on for about 5-8 minutes.
  • Step 4: Optional tinting can be added to enhance the colour and definition of the brows if desired.
  • Step 5: Lastly, any remaining products are removed, and a brow nourishing serum is applied to hydrate and condition the brows while they are brushed into their final shape.

Our entire process ensures your brows are styled to perfection, whether you prefer a sleek, polished look or a fuller, more natural appearance.

  • Fuller Appearance: Do you have sparse brows? Brow lamination makes them looks fuller and more defined – Even if you have naturally thick brows, it adds some extra definition and control for that perfect finish.

How Long Does Eyebrow Lamination Last?

Eyebrow lamination typically lasts between 6 to 8 weeks, acting like a long-lasting brow gel that you don’t need to reapply daily. The exact time can vary based on your natural hair and how well you care for your brows. It’s important to let the lift fully drop before booking your next appointment to avoid over-processing your natural brow hairs. You can enjoy flawless brows for up to two months with proper care!

How Do You Maintain Laminated Brows?

To maintain your laminated brows and keep them looking their best, follow these tips:

  • Avoid Water and Steam for the First 24 Hours: For the first day after your treatment, keep your brows dry and avoid exposure to steam. Water and steam can interfere with the entire process, potentially undoing the brow lamination treatment.
  • Brush and Style Daily: Brush and style your brows morning and night to maintain their perfect shape. This helps keep them looking neat and ensures they stay in place, as they can shift slightly during sleep.
  • Use Aftercare Products: Apply a small amount of aftercare peptide balm each night or whenever your brows feel drier than usual. This will help keep your brows nourished and in good condition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the Difference Between Brow Tint and Brow Lamination?

 Brow Lamination vs Tinting

Is a Brow Lamination Worth It?

Brow lamination is definitely worth considering if you’re looking for fuller, well-defined brows with minimal upkeep. It’s a safe, effective treatment that delivers immediate results and is more affordable compared to other brow options like Microblading. With just one treatment, you can achieve a fresh look that lasts for weeks.

Plus, brow lamination is currently trending, making it a great time to try out this popular style. If you want a low-maintenance way to enhance your brows and keep up with the latest beauty trends, brow lamination could be a fantastic choice!

Is a Patch Test Required?

Yes, a patch test can be done if you are worried that you may have a reaction to the treatmet before your brow lamination appointment. This test must be done at least 48 hours before and includes lamination solutions and brow tints. Although brow lamination is generally safe, there’s a slight chance you could be allergic to the products used. An allergic reaction might include symptoms like red, irritated skin, swelling, itching, or even bumps. While most reactions are mild, performing the patch test is important to ensure your safety. If you do experience any symptoms, consult your GP or pharmacist for advice.

Cost of Brow Lamination

Our healthy brow lamination lasts for 1 hour and costs between $130 – $150.

Can’t I Do It Myself at Home?

While it might be tempting to try brow lamination at home, we strongly advise against it. Brow lamination involves chemical solutions that require careful application to avoid risks like allergic reactions or over-processing (Incorrectly performed treatments can lead to damaged, dry, or brittle brow hairs, and in severe cases, the hairs may even break off).

For the best results and to ensure the health of your brows, it’s best to leave the lamination to our professionals, who can provide a safe and effective in-salon treatment. Plus, nothing compares to the precision and expertise of a salon treatment for achieving your desired look.
